Extreme torque from a standard size servo....easily done with the new SPG400A Servo Power Gearbox Kit. This device increases the stated torque of your servo by adding another set of final drive gears. By utilizing an external potentiometer on the final output shaft the original amount of rotation from the servo remains. The structure is machined from high-strength 6061-T6 aluminum. The hardened 3/8” stainless steel final output shaft is supported by dual ABEC-5 precision ball bearings that not only allow extremely smooth operation but can also support up to 200 pounds of vertical and horizontal load. The military grade potentiometer is coupled to the final output shaft. The main spur gear is bolted to the drive hub so that all power transfer is direct without the possibility of slipping. With six optional gear ratios, you are sure to find the right combination of power and speed for your project. Gear ratios can easily be changed if you are needing to vary the power or speed. Mounting various attachments is simple with the four 5-40 tapped holes in the aluminum clamp hub. Mounting tabs on the frame are .250” thick. Servo not included (full instructions included). Patented.
* Keep in mind that this kit requires you to modify your servo for continuous rotation. Purchasing a servo
pre-modified for continuous rotation is highly recommended.
Four 5-40 tapped holes in the mounting hub allows for various attachments.

To figure the torque output use the following formula:
Power Gearbox Torque = Servo Torque x Gear Ratio
Example: An HS-425BB servo that produces 57 in-oz of torque at 6V matched with a 5:1 ratio.
57 X 5 = 285 in-oz in the Servo Power Gearbox
To figure the speed output use the following formula:
Power Gearbox Speed = Servo Speed x Gear Ratio
Example: An HS-425BB servo that goes 60° in .16 seconds at 6V matched with a 5:1 ratio.
.16 X 5 = 60° in .80 seconds in the Servo Power Gearbox
Normal operation of most servos is 90° but they can operate to 180° when given a pulse signal ranging from 700usec to 2300usec. Since most R/C controllers cannot generate this wide of signal range, you will need to purchase our servo stretcher for 180° operation.
