The computer controller allows you to operate your speed controller via a computer. When connected, you can proportionally vary the speed of your gearmotor both forward and reverse when coupled with the digital speed controller. When the slider in the software is in the center position the gearmotor with be at rest. The further you move the slider from the center position, the faster the motor will rotate in the corresponding direction. By using the computer controller the speed of the motor can be set and will continue to rotate at that speed until the slider is moved to a different position.
The computer controller will allow you to record motions on a time-voltage basis. Since there are no feedback position sensors on the gearmotors, the computer controller simply stores the amount of time a given voltage is supplied to the gearmotor. This works extremely well for dolly systems that require a varied speed throughout a range of motion. We do not recommend this controller for application that require extreme precision over a period of time.
When 7.2V to 12V is supplied to the speed controller, it will supply 5VDC to the computer controller via the twisted wire, therefore a separate power source is not needed for the computer controller.
This controller will allow you to record a unlimited time and control up to eight speed controllers.
