Servo City Sun Tracker Photos 010

John from ecoCAD Design Group sent in these photos of their Dual Axis Sun Tracker that uses ServoCity’s new ServoBlocks and JS200 joystick controller. The tracker has two operating modes. In auto mode, the LEDs can make the servos track the sun, or even a flashlight. In joystick mode the solar panels follow the pan-tilt joystick commands of a moving light source. The solar panels power the circuit board and provide power for tracking.

rbtx school robot

Among many other things, Tim has been working with middle school kids for over a decade. He recently sent in this picture of “RBTX”, one of the robots that his robotics class built using servos from ServoCity. This robot is “set loose” in the cafeteria to dispense M&M’s and to squirt water at kids! Thanks for taking the time to share and for helping foster an appreciation for robotics in our youth! To read more about Tim’s projects check out his (very funny) blog at the link below...

winders 1
Frisco Kid - picture #2
Frisco Kid - picture #1

These are 1:10 and 1:20 winders with electronic turn counters for indoor (and small outdoor) rubber powered model planes. These planes use up to 2500 turns in one loop of rubber, and the best of them have stayed aloft for over an hour in one flight! The best winders, up to now, have all been geared with clockwork counters - which only count to 500 and then start over again. These sprocket and chain units (shown right) have almost zero friction and give better feedback to the flier. Art uses ServoCity sprockets and chain in his winders. He currently offers them pre-assembled or in kit form.
If you want to know more about these winders or wish to obtain one, please contact Art.
