This is the S9251 Digital High Speed Rudder F3C Servo designed especially for the GY601 and the GY611 Gyro. This servo will will NOT work with any other application 4.8V ONLY.
This servo can produce high-current draw from your batteries. If using NiMH or LiPo batteries, make sure they are capable of delivering sufficient amps.
FEATURES: Special servo for the GY601. Compatible with Super Narrow Pulse of (760µs) drive.
Digitally enhanced microprocessors cut about half the response time from transmitter input to servo reaction.
Middle-case section is black alumite with silver heat sink cut-outs; effectively dissipates the motor heat.
Digital operation allows this servo to reach full power immediately and maintain torque longer.
High-capacity, high-current wire with low resistance.
Gold plated connectors
High speed operation for immediate response
Metal gears
Coreless motor
Water and dust resistant
Dual ball bearings on the output shaft
Delivers high speed operation for rudders on FAI competition helicopters and precision fixed-wing F3C pattern aircraft.
One year warranty
The GY601 can only be used at 4.8V, higher voltage may damage the gyro. The S9251 is the ONLY servo that can be used with the GY601 Gyro. No other servo has the frame refresh rate to stand up to this gyro. Immediately after flight, DO NOT touch the S9251 case. The heat sink section of the case is extremely hot, and may cause burns. When mounting in the fuselage, install the S9251 so that the servo case and the metal parts of the helicopter frame do not touch. The aluminum middle case will generate a large amount of noise if touched, and could make it impossible for the receiver to receive. S9251 Digital Servo Precautions,
-It is best to avoid long leads and Y-harnesses especially with standard grade wires. If problems are encountered, consider using heavy duty wire such as Futaba's Heavy Duty Series or Hobbico's Pro Series ,minimizing lead lengths, and/or removing Y-harnesses.
-Current Drain: Futaba S9251 Servo is specially designed for higher torque and high-speed, therefore very high current drain is normal at startup. For ultimate performance when using this servo, please review the following points.
(1) Always use a 4.8V battery. Dry cells are rated at 1.5V each, making the overall voltage 6V which will damage the gyro.
(2) When using systems with the battery fail safe function it has a higher cut-off voltage setting which will cause shorter operation time.
(3) When installing the servo please check pushrod linkage to make sure there is no binding in order to prevent excessive power consumption and decrease the life of the motor and battery.
