The 1.5" length of X-Rail is equal to the width (or height) of channel so it can be added in your framework to add support between parallel channels. Alternatively, this X-Rail can fasten to any component that has thru-holes on the 0.77" pattern which will provide space between two 1/4" bore bearings. That space will provide greater support for a 1/4" shaft passing through.
