FTC Starter Bot Resource Guide (DECODE™)

Decode your FIRST® steps into the season with this FTC Starter Bot from goBILDA®!

The FTC Starter Bot can be built in its entirety using components found in the FTC Starter Kit (plus a REV Hub). Once you have your FTC Starter Kit in hand, come back to this page to review the Starter Bot’s Overview Video, Assembly Instructions, and Example Code. With those resources, your team will be able start with a box of parts and end with your robot that performs core game tasks!

This robot is designed specifically to compete in the 2025-2026 FTC season, DECODE™ presented by RTX, and can:

• Score ARTIFACTS in either alliance goal from close range--either one at a time, or all three in a burst!
• Carry up to three ARTIFACTS at a time!
• Easily be loaded by hand from the LOADING ZONE!
• Easily fit inside the BASE ZONE during endgame, thanks to a shortened drive wheelbase!

And just like your average fixer-upper home in a Bronze Age ruin, this robot provides a strong foundation, with room for endless improvement. Its purpose is to help teams get started with essential functionality, offering a solid early-season experience. From there, it's up to your team to build on its capabilities, enhance performance, and make it truly competitive.
