Drive in any direction with the Strafer® Chassis Kit! This version utilizes 140mm diameter mecanum wheels. (A 96mm wheels version is also available.)

Mecanum wheels have diagonal rollers that allow the chassis to drive sideways and diagonally, in addition to conventional skid-steer style steering. This kit’s mecanum wheels are just one of the many ways it provides for the construction of a rigid, low profile, extensively modifiable chassis you can reconfigure in any direction!

Motors
At first glance, you might wonder: where are the motors? Flip the chassis over to see four 223 RPM 5203 Series Planetary Gear Motors seated within the channel frame. These motors drive steel miter gears and heavy duty hub-shafts riding on ball bearings to make for low-friction holonomic action! The included 140mm diameter mecanum wheels give the chassis a theoretical speed of 5.35 ft/sec.

Miter Gears
The motors drive 90° steel miter gears ordained with positive-drive 8mm REX™ bores and a titanium nitride finish. Their mighty clamping mechanism and strong material proficiencies amplify the dependability of your big-wheel omnidirectional action!

Shafting
8mm REX™ motor shafts and hub-shafts facilitate fierce positive drive and a smooth assembly.

Wheels
The goBILDA® Mecanum Wheels feature ball-bearing supported rollers, a narrow profile, and steel side plates. The 140mm diameter provides a massive 46mm of ground clearance for avoiding and overcoming obstacles!

Frame
Unlike other frames requiring exposed motion components, the Strafer Chassis can fit all non-wheel parts inside its highly configurable and goBILDA® pattern 1120 Series U-Channel structure.
